Connector types
Four connector families matter in New Zealand. Which one you have decides which of the 578 mapped sites you can actually use.

CCS2 (Combined Charging System)
The DC fast-charging standard on almost every new EV sold in New Zealand. A Type 2 socket with two extra high-current pins below it.
Type 2 (Mennekes)
The AC standard. Slower, and what you will find at hotels, car parks and workplaces where the car is parked for hours anyway.
CHAdeMO
The older Japanese DC standard. It matters in New Zealand far more than elsewhere, because of the imported Leaf fleet.
Tesla Supercharger and Destination
Tesla's own network. In New Zealand the Superchargers use the same CCS2 plug as everyone else.
